Arsenal can sign their very own Eden Hazard this summer

Arsenal have recently been linked with a deal for Chelsea player Kai Havertz, with the German international said to be open to leaving Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal has a history of acquiring players from London rivals Chelsea.

In recent years, Gunners sporting director Edu has signed Blues players such as David Luiz, Willian, and Jorginho, with the latter still playing for Mikel Arteta’s side. Kai Havertz, an offensive midfielder for Chelsea, has recently been mentioned as a possible target.

Havertz is open to leaving and has shown no interest in signing a new contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but he will not push for a departure this summer as things currently stand. Since arriving in England three years ago, the former Bayer Leverkusen youngster has struggled for consistency, but his promise is evident.

In fact, Manchester United star Gary Neville compared Havertz to Blues icon Eden Hazard back in 2021, which is strong praise given the Belgian’s success in West London. When asked to predict his young player of the year for the then-upcoming 2021/22 season, Neville said, “I actually think Havertz has gone up a level, but I also think he’s in third gear.”

“I think he’ll go to fourth gear, and I think he’ll go to fifth gear. I think he could become an absolutely great player.

“When he really fills out into his body, and he will do… He’s already a great runner with the ball, when he gets more confidence and belief, in two years time I think we could be seeing someone who is absolutely up there.

“I remember what Chelsea did with Eden Hazard, he went from here, to here, to here. I think that’s what Havertz will do.”
