Atletico Madrid open voting on decision about club badge

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid has moved rapidly to hold a referendum on the club’s current logo.

Last Friday, a consultative vote was held on the design of the new badge, which was established in 2016, to determine whether there would be interest in returning to the original design. After receiving 44% approval, chief shareholders Miguel Angel Gil Marin and Enrique Cerezo announced that there would be a vote on whether to return to the previous design.

The voting period for Atletico Madrid members to vote on whether the previous emblem should be reinstated was opened on Wednesday, and the results will be recognized by the Atletico Madrid board.

‘The badge is not to be touched,’ has been a long-running campaign and protest led by Atletico fans and ultras since they were not consulted on the initial modification, and it appears that it may result in successful action. The deadline for voting is Friday.
