Atletico Madrid star demanding €20m annual contract from Saudi Arabia
Atletico Madrid has begun to make moves in the transfer market, but it appears that the biggest unknown is which players will depart the club this summer.
Saul Niguez is one of at least three players wanted by Atletico Madrid this summer, but it looks that his only viable departure option is to the Middle East and the riches of Saudi Arabia.
According to Diario AS, in order to agree on a move to Al Nassr or Al Ittihad, Saul is expecting a salary of €20 million per year from one of the interested Al Nassr or Al Ittihad.
If that demand is met, and they reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid on a cost, Saul will relocate to Saudi Arabia.
However, Saul has stated publicly that his priority remains Atletico Madrid and that he has no plans to quit the club at this time. Despite the fact that this was several weeks ago, Saul stated that he did not have an offer on the table.
While Saul is no longer a prominent player for Los Colchoneros, he is at home in Madrid, and surrendering that comfort for both him and his family would almost certainly cost a fortune. It should also be noted that Saul is already one of Atletico’s highest-paid players, with a three-year contract extension.
