Barcelona receive Franck Kessie offer from Al Ahly
Al Ahly of Saudi Arabia has made a proposal for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie.
The news of interest in ‘El Presidente’ leaked this week, and it was rumored on Wednesday afternoon that Saudi Arabia would quadruple Kessie’s salary to move.
Barcelona, according to Gerard Romero, has also received a bid from Al Ahly and is presently considering it. The deal is worth €20 million to Barcelona, while Kessie would receive €10 million each year.

Previous reports put Barcelona’s asking price at €30 million, and it appears the Blaugrana have given up hope of selling Kessie unless a ‘irrefutable’ offer comes in. However, with the salary cap limiting Barcelona’s capacity to make moves in this market, they may be tempted to pull the trigger. The temptation to negotiate a higher price will be present because Saudi Arabia can afford it.
That is, of course, meaningless without Kessie’s consent. So far, both the 26-year-old and his agent have stated their desire to remain in Catalonia. Kessie rejected down more lucrative offers to join Barcelona last summer, and it appears that it will rely on if the big sums on offer would tip the scales in Kessie’s favor.
