Barcelona to step up plans for Girona midfielder Oriol Romeu

Barcelona is close to completing a deal for Girona midfielder Oriol Romeu.

Barcelona will intensify discussions to sign Romeu after Inter Milan player Marcelo Brozovic accepted a 100 million contract from Al-Nassr.

Romeu is aware of Barcelona’s ambitions and is awaiting a resolution with Girona.

According to Sport, Barcelona will try to reach an agreement with Girona for a sum of 15 million euros.

Romeu is a former Barcelona youth player who left the La Masia academy to join Chelsea as a teenager. Last year, he returned to Cataluyna with Girona from Southampton.
