Greenwood looks worlds away from PL as he returns to training with private coach

FOOTBALLER Mason Greenwood appears on a baseball field for the first time since his arrest last year.

A private coach at a public sports center put the suspended Manchester United star, 21, through his paces.

In our exclusive photos, he can be seen working on his close control and shooting in a 90-minute session on an £85-an-hour pitch.

He has grown his hair since the last time he was seen, and he was not wearing Nike boots after the company discontinued their sponsorship arrangement.

Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 after a lady accused him of physical and sexual abuse. He is expecting a child with his partner this summer.

He was supposed to go to trial this year, but all charges were dismissed in February.

United’s owners are yet to make a decision on the future of the £50 million player.

The Sun claimed earlier this month that manager Erik ten Hag and the majority of first-team players are eager to give him another shot.

“Whether you like him or not, Mason wants to get back to playing football,” a source added. It’s what he excels at and the only way he can properly reconstruct his life.

“He is tired of waiting, and he and his team now expect an answer from United one way or another.”
