Jamie Hayter: You’d Be A Fool To Not Want To Work With CM Punk
CM Punk may be a contentious personality, but he still has a lot of value, according to Jamie Hayter, former AEW Women’s Champion.
CM Punk will return to action this Saturday to headline the premiere edition of AEW Collision. Prior to his return, Punk stated that he had “a lot of things” to get off his chest after a 9-month absence. Of course, his hiatus began when an unpleasant chain of events occurred following AEW All Out in September 2022, including Punk’s infamous post-show outburst.
Despite the prior controversy surrounding CM Punk, Jamie Hayter believes the AEW locker room would be “fools” not to want to work with him. Hayter stated why working with Punk is beneficial in an interview with Metro UK.
“From my experience with him, he was always very, very pleasant. Very helpful, and I always had really great conversations with him about wrestling. He’s a wealth of knowledge because he’s been in the business for so long, and he’s got extensive experience,” she said. “You’d kind of be a fool to not want to pick his brain and not want to work with the guy. He knows what he’s doing!”
“He was one of the most gripping performers in professional wrestling. The Summer of Punk, all of that, everyone was so into it and there was a reason why he was the most popular wrestler. To be honest, I would say he’s still incredibly popular now, regardless of the All Out stuff and the drama. He’s still a big name and he’s still wanted in the business.”
The United Center in Chicago, Illinois will host the premiere of AEW Collision. In the main event, CM Punk will team up with AEW Tag Team Champions FTR to face the team of Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe.
