Kenny King Wins Digital Media Championship At Slammiversary

Kenny King

Kenny King has been crowned the new IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion after defeating Joe Hendry in the pre-show of IMPACT’s Slammiversary.

King stunned the world by defeating Hendry prior to the start of the IMPACT pay-per-view, ending his reign at 266 days and becoming the newest champion. The victory is King’s first as Digital Media Champion and his third overall as an IMPACT Wrestling singles champion.

Check out the video below for a recap of how the bout finished, courtesy of our live, play-by-play coverage of IMPACT Slammiversary:

To begin, Hendry chops King and then hoists him up for a stalling suplex. King emerges to re-group with Sheldon Jean. King grabs a Chippendale tie and briefly chokes Hendry. Hendry rises to his feet and attempts offense, but is caught with a T-Bone suplex, and King covers. Hendry lifts King for a suplex, which he then follows with a couple clotheslines. A fallaway slam lands on King. King leaps to the top and is met with a massive chokeslam. Hendry takes the cover, but Jean places King’s foot on the rope.

Hendry gets the crowd going until King cuts him off. King attempts to flip out, but Hendry advances, and King knocks Jean out at ringside. Jean tries to pull Hendry’s foot, but the champ pushes him off. The ref counts to three as King stacks on top of Hendry and Jean holds his feet on the ropes.
