Kobe Bryant’s impact on the sports world has lasted far beyond his tragic death on January 26, 2020.

His “Mamba Mentality” has inspired countless of athletes, including many of his contemporaries, and he is unquestionably an idol and legend. So much so that, three years after his untimely death and seven years after his retirement from NBA basketball, Bryant will be featured on the cover of the highly famous video game “NBA 2K24.”

It will be Kobe’s fourth appearance on the video game’s cover, but this time the publisher has something special planned.

The cover will be available in two editions: “Kobe Bryant Edition” and “Black Mamba Edition.”

There have been more NBA champions than Bryant, and three players have scored more points than him: LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Bryant concluded his career with 5,640 points in 220 games. He won five NBA titles, including three straight in 2000, 2001, and 2022.

Bryant may not have received as many honors as the aforementioned superstars, but Kobe ranks with Jordan and now LeBron as the greatest basketball player of all time.Nobody could stop him while his “Mamba Mentality” was on.

In 1962, Wilt Chamberlain memorably scored 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors. Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance against the Toronto Raptors in 2006 remains the guardian milestone to Chamberlain’s 100.
