Leaked Kai Havertz Announcement Video Reveals New Arsenal Signing’s Squad Number
Even though his transfer from Chelsea has not yet been formally announced, Kai Havertz has already given his first interview as an Arsenal player.
Havertz is scheduled to relocate across London this summer in a deal valued roughly £65 million.
On social media, a video of the 24-year-old posing in Arsenal’s new home shirt has surfaced.
Havertz is shown wearing the number 29 on the back of his shirt, implying that he would keep the same squad number he had at Chelsea.

Indeed, another leaked video confirms that Havertz will be Arsenal’s new number 29.
His first interview with Arsenal’s club media channels went viral before it was officially published.
Havertz said of the no.29 in the interview, “I’ve had it for a few years now.” I selected it when I started working professionally in Germany. Since then, it has always brought me good fortune.”
Since 2020, when French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi departed the club, no Arsenal player has worn the number 29 jersey.
In the released video, Havertz states of his transfer to Arsenal, “It’s super exciting for me personally.”
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this incredible club, which has such a rich history, and I hope we can accomplish great things together.”
“You can just see the team’s family mentality on the field, and I guess they have it off the field as well.” That was one of the reasons why playing against Arsenal was so difficult.”
