Liverpool prepared to part ways with 26-year-old but only on a permanent deal

Nat Phillips

Liverpool are apparently willing to let center-back Nat Phillips go, but only on a permanent basis.

Leeds United have expressed an interest in taking Phillips on loan, but Liverpool, according to The Sun, would prefer to sell him rather than loan him out.

The 26-year-old Liverpool youth product has made 29 appearances for the club since 2020.

During the 2022-23 season, he was limited to just five appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Phillips’ most significant season came in the 2020/21 season when he and Rhys Williams were thrown into the heart of Liverpool’s defense as a result of a defensive injury crisis that sidelined key players such as Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip.

Their outstanding performances were critical in ensuring Liverpool’s qualification for the Champions League.

Phillips’ time at Liverpool appears to be coming to an end, with the club eager to cash in on him.

Aside from Leeds, Feyenoord in the Netherlands is also interested in the Liverpool defender.
