Man United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich ‘met with the agent of Jeremie Frimpong’

Jeremie Frimpong

Manchester United, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich reportedly met with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Jeremie Frimpong’s agent in April.

Frimpong had a strong season in the Bundesliga, and according to Fabrizio Romano, he has drawn the attention of a number of Europe’s elite clubs.

‘Formally, he has not changed agents; his agent Lemmert has teamed with new agency to work on Frimpong’s future,’ he informed old Caught Offside.

‘His agency met with Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United in April, but nothing has progressed at this level for the fullbacks market in general, and the same is true for Cancelo and Dumfries.’

However, according to Romano’s Substack column, Frimpong would cost a significant portion of Barcelona’s transfer budget.

‘I believe the asking price could be in the region of £30/35m [€35-40m].’

The position is a priority this summer, as the club currently lacks a recognized candidate for the role.

Jules Kounde has been playing there, although he is thought to be dissatisfied with the situation.
