Man Utd legend believes Arsenal will fight for the title next season

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has warned Manchester City that winning the Premier League title next season will be difficult.

Berbatov feels that a number of top clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea, will launch serious challenges to City’s dominance.

“I believe it will be difficult for Manchester City next season because not only Manchester United, but also the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool will be competing with them,” Berbatov told BetFred.

He highlighted that Manchester United, led by Erik ten Hag, should have high expectations and seek to win the Premier League. “Of course, it’s going to be tough with what Manchester City has done this year,” Berbatov added, “but Manchester United’s motivation should be to stop their domination.”

The former striker also acknowledged the capacity of other teams to compete with Manchester City, expressing faith in Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool’s ability to improve next season. He notably noted Chelsea’s expected progress under Mauricio Pochettino’s management.

Arsenal finished second last season after coming close to winning the league. Manchester United finished third and won the League Cup, demonstrating Ten Hag’s development. Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League, while Chelsea had a terrible season.

With the forthcoming season set to be very competitive, Berbatov says it will be interesting to see who club poses the greatest challenge to Manchester City as they seek a fourth consecutive Premier League title

The Gunners may surely be that name as they attempt to bring in new players to bolster Mikel Arteta’s side.

While the deal for Chelsea’s Kai Havertz has already been completed, negotiations with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia are moving forward.

The only issue to be concerned about is Arsenal’s participation in the Champions League and whether they will be able to strike a suitable balance between Europe’s most prestigious competition and their domestic league.
