Newcastle’s fullback Ashby enjoyed scoring against Rangers

Harrison Ashby of Newcastle United is keen to make the most of his preseason opportunities.

On Tuesday, the January signing scored in a pleasant towards Rangers, heading a goal in the dying ranges of a 2-1 victory.

Ashby has but to play an aggressive first-crew recreation for the Magpies, however, he hopes to earn a niche on the squad with a robust preseason.

He instructed NUFC TV: “I see it as a big learning curve.

Coming in, I’m studying from a person like Tripps, who is arguably the fine proper-lower back within the world, so I’m looking him, schooling with him, and taking each opportunity that comes my manner.

“Coming into pre-season, as long as I keep doing what I’m doing, I suppose I’ll get my opportunities and I’ll certainly be able to take them.”
