Phoenix Suns Coach Reveals Truth About Chris Paul Situation
The Phoenix Suns have not waived Chris Paul
The Phoenix Suns were planned to waive Chris Paul, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, but their new head coach Frank Vogel has already confirmed that Paul has not been waived.
Vogel told Sports Illustrated’s, Chris Mannix:
“Obviously there was a misunderstanding yesterday. We did not waive Chris, as was reported. But there’s ongoing conversations about all of the options to improve the roster. I personally communicated with Chris and feel strongly about the opportunity to work with him. He’s someone I’ve just had an immense respect for over the years, not only just his game, his toughness, IQ, he’s one of the great winners our game has ever seen. He’s done so much for this team the last few years, so I’m really hopeful to have an opportunity to work with him this next year, and I think he can really help us get over the top.”
Since news of his uncertain future in Phoenix broke, Paul has been connected to the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and other potential suitors; yet, the prospect of him remaining with the Suns appears to be alive and well. With Vogel’s latest remarks, it was revealed that Paul has not yet been waived and that all parties are collaborating on the best way ahead.
