Charles Rosa was born in Peabody, Massachusetts, on August 24, 1986.

Charles Rosa is of Italian origin and was born and reared in Peabody, Massachusetts, the son of Chucky and Mary Rosa. Rosa’s father, grandfather, and uncle were all fighters. Rosa’s two older brothers, Domenic and Vincent, perished as a result of accidental drug overdoses. He also has a sister named Teresa, as well as two younger brothers named Lucas and Francis. Rosa grew up playing football, hockey, and lacrosse, as well as karate.

Mendes was withdrawn from the fight two days later and replaced by Kyle Bochniak. Rosa was victorious by unanimous decision.

Charles Rosa fought Shane Burgos at UFC 210 on April 8, 2017. He was defeated by TKO in the third round. For their efforts, both competitors were named Fight of the Night.

Rosa was scheduled to meet Mizuto Hirota at UFC Fight Night 117 on September 23, 2017. However, the fight was called off on the day of weigh-ins because Hirota failed to make weight and was ruled medically unfit to compete.

Rosa returned after a 30-month sabbatical due to a neck injury and challenged Manny Bermudez on October 18, 2019, at UFC on ESPN 6. Bermudez weighed in at 148 pounds, two pounds above the featherweight non-title bout limit of 146. The fight was fought at catchweight. Bermudez was penalized 20% of the amount in his purse, which went to Rosa. He won the battle through submission in the first round. This victory earned him the prize for Performance of the Night.

Charles Rosa was set to meet Bryce Mitchell at UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Weidman on May 2, 2020. However, on April 9, Dana White, the president of the UFC, revealed that the event had been postponed, and the fight would instead take place on May 9, 2020, at UFC 249. He was defeated by a unanimous decision.

Rosa fought Kevin Aguilar at UFC on ESPN: Eye vs. Calvillo on June 13, 2020. He won the fight by unanimous decision.
