Jushin Thunder Liger was born on November 30, 1964, in Hiroshima, Japan. Little is understood about his early life, education, or family besides that he began wrestling as a beginner wrestler in high faculty.

In his senior year, he competed in a national championship occasion but lost to Toshiaki Kawada in the finals.
After graduating from high faculty in the early 1980s, he went out to NJPW’s dojo to grow to be a professional wrestler. He went to Mexico for schooling after being turned down because of top regulations.

While trying to make a dwelling in Mexico, he became noticed using NJPW authorities. After seeing his struggle and passion for the game, they entreated him to go back to Japan and educate in NJPW’s dojo, which he did.

The CTU disbanded in August 2007 as a result of his decision, and he then joined Masahiro Chono’s Legend stable, which was later disbanded in February 2010.

Since 2007, he has also wrestled for NJPW’s Mexican affiliate, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, on and off (CMLL). On May 3, 2010, he defeated Negro Casas to win the CMLL World Middleweight Title, and on August 13, he defeated CMLL World Trios Champion La Sombra to win the 2010 Universal Championship. On July 5, 2013, he and Hiroshi Tanahashi won the CMLL World Tag Team Championship.

On November 30, 2002, he fought Minoru Suzuki as a replacement for an ailing Kensuke Sasaki and lost to Suzuki in the first round by rear-naked choke.

Liger has competed in various wrestling promotions over the years, including Ring of Honor (ROH), Total Nonstop Action (TNA), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW), among others. His signature moves include Abisegeri, Frankensteiner, and Fisherman Buster, as well as finishing moves like Brainbuster, Liger Bomb, and Liger Suplex.
