Trevor Mannis is an American professional wrestler who now works for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as Ricochet on the Raw brand. He is a previous Open the Dream Gate, Opens the Brave Gate, Opens the Twin Gate, and Open the Triangle Gate champion in the Japanese promotion Dragon Gate.

Ricochet has also wrestled for the American promotions Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he won the Battle Of Los Angeles tournament in 2014 and 2017, Dragon Gate USA (DGUSA), where he is a former Open the Freedom Gate Champion, and Chikara, where he primarily worked as Helios. He has also worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling as Prince Puma, where he won the 2014 Best of the Super Juniors tournament and Lucha Underground.

All-time Career of Ricochet

On January 16, 2018, WWE announced that Ricochet has signed with the company and would begin training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Ricochet made his NXT debut on February 2nd, defeating Fabian Aichner in a dark match. Ricochet went on to defeat Buddy Murphy in a series of house show singles battles in February and March. He made his tag team debut with Roderick Strong, defeating Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli. Ricochet made his NXT TakeOver: New Orleans debut on April 7 in a Ladder Match for the NXT North American Championship against Adam Cole, EC3, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, and The Velveteen Dream. He won his second title bout at the May 5 home event, defeating reigning North American Champion Adam Cole, but was unable to retain the title due to a victory by disqualification.

He made his comeback to television on June 16th, defeating The Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II. Three days later, on June 19, Ricochet appeared on the second televised night of the 2018 WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, defeating EC3 and The Velveteen Dream. On the June 27 edition of NXT, he teamed with Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven and Tyler Bate) in a six-man tag match that was lost to The Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong). Ricochet next competed on August 21 at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4, where he defeated Adam Cole to earn his first WWE belt, the North American belt.

Ricochet defended the North American Championship against United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne two days later at the August 23 NXT Tapings. Their match was called off due to a double disqualification. Later, he teamed with Dunne in a tag bout that was defeated by Undisputed ERA members Adam Cole and Roderick Strong. Ricochet successfully defended his North American title against singles rivals such as Shane Thorne, Harper, and Tyler Breeze for August and into the early weeks of September. Ricochet successfully defended his North American title against Fabian Aichner at a house show on September 13.

Ricochet lost the North American title to Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix on January 26, 2019. Ricochet and Aleister Black would win the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in March. They would go on to lose to The War Raiders for the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT TakeOver: New York. This would be Ricochet and Black’s final NXT match.

Ricochet made his full-time main roster debut at WrestleMania 35, challenging for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Aleister Black.

Personal Life

Ricochet stated in 2021 on Instagram that he was dating fellow WWE Television star, Samantha Irvin. Irvin worked as a WWE ring commentator in NXT and 205 Live until 2021 and was quickly promoted to the main roster due to her outstanding performance. They worked on SmackDown at the same time, and their relationship was open to the public. The couple got engaged on January 10th, 2023.

Ricochet has a son from a prior relationship as well. Samantha Irvin is the mother of a five-year-old daughter named Myra.
