Bedoya had a successful amateur career before turning pro in MMA. He won three fights at Bellator 85 and two amateur featherweight titles from Cage Fury Fighting Championships, among other titles. He also held a number of regional titles, including the WKA East Coast Amateur Featherweight Title and the WKA Eastern US Regional 145-pound Title.

At Bellator 77, Bedoya faced Rob Fioretti in his professional debut match. Two minutes into the first round, Bedoya submitted Fioretti via rear naked choke to win. After this victory, “The Cuban Fighter” went on a long winning streak, winning five of his last six fights before being signed by the UFC. Notable victories include ones over Adam Maciejewski at KSW 24: Clash Of The Giants, Joe Pingitore at CFFC 54: Ricci vs. Girtz 2, and Anthony Morrison at CFFC 61: Raddatz vs. Palomino II, among others.

After joining the UFC on February 13th, 2016, Rolando faced fellow newcomer Phillipe Nover in the TUF 23 Finale octagon on July 8th, 2016. Unfortunately for Bedoya, it wasn’t meant to be that day as Nover won by unanimous decision following three rounds of action-packed back-and-forth striking exchange between them both, but losing this fight didn’t affect any momentum that “The Spider” had.

Since joining the UFC, Rolando has a 3-3 record overall, winning against Felipe Silva later that year and Kyle Nelson the following year before losing to Tiago Trator and Alex Caceres. However, Rolando most recently bounced back from those defeats when he put on an impressive performance during 2020 October 31st card, defeating Luke Sanders via doctor stoppage due to a cut occurring near the cornerman’s eye during the third round, thus giving him a record of 3-3.

In the future, Rolando appears to be a member of promotion for the foreseeable future, especially now that he’s gaining more fans thanks to recent success. Still, only time will tell what lies ahead for this intriguing prospect!
