Vinagre, who was born in Charneca de Caparica, Almada, in the Lisbon metropolitan area, spent two terms in the Sporting CP academy. prior to transferring to Ligue 1 Club Monaco on June 12, 2015. After playing with the youth team for his first season, he signed a professional contract.

Vinagre was scheduled to be loaned to LigaPro team Académica in August 2016 in order to gain experience, but FIFA, which was required because the player was under 18, refused to approve the arrangement. On January 8, 2021, he made his Premier League debut for the latter, starting in a 1-4 home loss to Porto.

On July 9, 2021, Vinagre was loaned to Sporting with the possibility of purchase. In his first season, he only made 18 competitive appearances, and the club officially signed him on July 1, 2022.

Vinagre joined Everton on a season-long loan on July 27, 2022; the agreement also included a buyout option.

Vinagre made five appearances as Portugal defeated Spain on penalties to win the 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Azerbaijan. He participated in the entire 4-3 extra-time win over Italy in Seinäjoki two years later, helping the under-19s to a similar accomplishment.
