If France striker Kylian Mbappe wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, he must sign a new deal.
PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has spoken out in defiance after Mbappe reportedly refused to extend his contract.
The Qatari supremo claims that if Mbappe does not renew his contract, he will be transferred for a huge cost this summer, since PSG do not want to lose him on a free transfer in a year when his contract ends.
“Our position is very clear,” said Al-Khelaifi.
“If Kylian Mbappe wants to stay – we want him to stay – he needs to sign a new contract.
“We cannot let the best player in the world right now leave for free. That is impossible.
This is a French club and, as he has said, he is not planning to leave for free.
“If somebody has changed his mind, it is not our fault.”
