Real Madrid winger Asensio has two future destinations for next season

Asensio

Earlier this week, Real Madrid embarked on a campaign to persuade Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, and Nacho Fernandez to change their minds. After all, all three players were considering leaving the club due to a severe lack of playing time.

Los Blancos’ latest strategy appears to have had a favorable impact on Ceballos’ position. Fabrizio Romano, on the other hand, indicates that it has not influenced Marco Asensio’s mind.

According to the Italian writer, the Spaniard will leave Real Madrid as a free agent at the end of the season.

He believes Aston Villa and PSG are the best bets among the several possibilities on his table. In reality, Villa has already made an initial bid for the player, as Fabrizio Romano has disclosed yet again.

Following a thrilling final day of Premier League activity, Aston Villa finished in the European positions and will compete in the UEFA Conference League next season. While a move to the English club would be a significant step-down, Asensio would see consistent playing time.

On that front, Paris Saint Germain appears to be the more likely destination. Asensio would fit in as a starting-caliber winger for the French club, which is on the verge of losing both Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr ahead of the new season. They also provide Champions League football.

Given his accomplishments, the Spaniard’s role at Real Madrid this season has been anything but insignificant. The 27-year-old has nine goals and six assists in 30 La Liga outings, while also creating nine great opportunities and averaging 1.4 critical passes per game.

However, this does not satisfy the winger who wants to be a starter every week. His departure in June appears to be set in stone, and the club should be disappointed that they did not profit from his departure.

Many in the Los Blancos hierarchy consider Brahim Diaz as a direct successor for the Spanish international if he departs. Needless to say, the future of the AC Milan star is heavily dependent on Asensio’s predicament.
