Sevilla to play Manchester City in UEFA Super Cup
Sevilla qualified for next season’s UEFA Super Cup last week after winning their seventh Europa League title on penalties against Roma in Budapest.
Following the conclusion of the Champions League on Saturday night, Los Nervionenses finally know who they will face in that encounter.
Manchester City defeated Inter Milan in the Champions League final, completing a stunning treble with a 1-0 triumph in Istanbul, with Spanish international Rodri scoring the winner for Pep Guardiola’s team.
During the 2022/23 season, Sevilla and Manchester City met in the Champions League group stages, with Man City winning both matches as Los Nervionenses finished third in the group, allowing them to go on to win the Europa League.
Sevilla will compete in their eighth UEFA Super Cup final, albeit they have only won one of the previous seven. They will undoubtedly want to add a second next season.
