Tommy Dreamer recovering from surgery after third bout with skin cancer

Tommy Dreamer

Tommy Dreamer, a former ECW star and current Impact Wrestling wrestler/producer, said that he is recovering from surgery for his third struggle with skin cancer.

Dreamer said on his House of Hardcore podcast that the spot was on his head and that it was removed using Mohs surgery, a method of treating skin cancer lesions.

Dreamer (Tom Laughlin) stated that this is his second struggle with skin cancer, the first being on his chest. He added that this time he had 42 stitches total, 23 on the exterior and 19 on the inside.

“I’m not blaming the sun.” I blame a lack of sunscreen, having a large forehead, and, most crucially, tanning beds. “I used to spend a lot of time in tanning beds,” he explained.

Dreamer explained that the operation, as well as dealing with his mother’s worsening health and subsequent death, were the reasons he left Impact TV, where he was an occasional character in addition to his backstage duties.

He said he was aware of the surgery for over three months due to the lengthy wait time, and while he was apprehensive, he was grateful they got everything out.

There is no set timetable for his return.
