Tottenham are pondering a deal for Juventus midfielder Gleison Bremer as Ange Postecoglou continues his search for a new center-back ahead of the new season.
According to Football Insider, the defender is high on Spurs’ wanted list and has been a long-term goal for the Premier League team. The North London club were interested in signing the Brazilian before he joined Juventus last summer, and they are again mulling a move for the Serie A star ahead of the new season.
The Brazil international’s current deal expires in 2027, which could cause Juventus to demand a significant amount to split ways with the center-back.
Spurs have more solid targets on their list, and who they bring to North London to fill the post should become clearer in the near future.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen is still on Tottenham’s radar, with talks continuing to bring the defender to North London. Spurs are also in talks with Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven, and the Premier League club will only buy one of them dependent on who is the cheapest, according to the transfer journalist.
In contrast to the other story, it is evident that Postecoglou is in need of a new defender ahead of the new season, since Tottenham’s backline was a major weakness last season, with the North London club conceding 63 goals, the sixth-highest in the Premier League.
